Customize the ribbon in Creo by creating common tab for all frequently using cascades

    In PTC Creo, there are too many options are available to make your job easier. In Creo parametric people may use few features frequently. But, these features were located at various tabs and groups. If these frequently using features were located at the same tabs or groups, just imagine how easy it is and it will speed up your task. Yes, you have this special feature in PTC Creo. You can create this feature by just creating a common tab. In the common tab, you can add all the features you will use frequently. You can also add new groups and cascades in the common tab. So, here you will get some tutorials along with some tips to create the common tab and tutorials to customize the ribbon. Open your Creo parametric and follow all the steps mentioned below carefully.

What is a common tab in Creo?

    Before creating a common tab you should know about a common tab. As described above, "the common tab is a place where all the features are assembled in a single tab based on the user's interest or opinion. Users can add any group or cascades in the common tab based on their requirements." You can disable the common tab at any time as per your wish.

How to create a common tab?

    In Creo, the common tab is already available with disabled mode. Now, you have to enable the common tab. To enable this common tab, follow the steps mentioned below.

 Step 1: Right-click on the tabs bar which is black in color located in between the quick access toolbar and ribbon.
 Step 2: Select the tabs where you will get all the tabs and the common tab. 
 Step 3: To enable the common tab, tick the check box on the common tab.

    Now, you will get a new tab named common tab in the tabs bar. Now, left-click on the common tab. You will find an empty tab there. To add the required groups and cascades you have to customize the ribbon. To disable this common tab you have to follow the above same procedure and uncheck the box on the common tab.

How to customize the ribbon in Creo?

    Customizing the ribbon in creo includes customizing the tabs, groups and cascades. Before customizing the ribbon you should decide what groups and cascades you want to be in the common tab. Ensure that you are adding the most frequently using cascades and groups in the common tab. There are two methods to customize the ribbon in Creo.     

 Method 1:

 Step 1: Right-click on the common tab you have already created.
 Step 2: Go to customize the ribbon, the new dialogue box named Creo parametric options will appear.
 Step 3: Select the common tab and now you can add groups and cascades from the left side column by the arrow between two columns.

Method 2:

 Step 1: Go to the File tab.
 Step 2: Select optionthe new dialogue box named Creo parametric options will appear. 
 Step 3: Go to customize > ribbon.
 Step 4: Select the common tab and now you can add groups and cascades from the left side column by the arrow between two columns.

What are the features available here?

    1. You can add a new tab, new group and new cascades using the new dropdown menu at the bottom of the creo parametric options window.
    2.  There are 4 arrows available in the customize the ribbon option. They are, right arrow, left arrow, up arrow and down arrow.
    3. The right and left arrows are used to add and remove the group and cascades in the ribbon.
    4. The up and down arrows are used to change the order of the tabs, groups and cascades in the ribbon.
    5. The modify tab is used to change the size and appearance of the cascades icons.
    6. You can also copy the existing icon and paste it into the new cascade you have created.

Now you can get all the required groups and cascades in a single tab. It will definitely make your work better and faster.
